Ed is a Fellow of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and serves on the ACTEC Fiduciary Litigation Committee.
Ed is a member of the Tennessee Probate Study Group, a joint ACTEC and Tennessee Bar Committee responsible for reviewing and drafting proposed state laws regarding estates, trusts, property, and inheritance, including related tax laws.
Ed is on the board of the Knoxville Estate Planning Council and is currently serving as its President.
In 2012, Ed began authoring a regular column on estate planning, called “Where There’s A Will,” in the Tennessee Bar Journal.

Ed has been married to the same woman since 1988 and has three nearly perfect children.
